      Chime is a very quiet boy who loves to eat; armed with an iron stomach that never goes full. He thinks of food 90% of the time, everything else cramped in that 10% is an afterthought. His reasons, aside from food being one of life’s greatest pleasures, he doesn’t like dealing with people. Most people misunderstand or underestimate him because he’s a child. Because he has a difficulty speaking (to a point that it’s a disability), his lack of words is usually interpreted as being expressionless when in truth he has a lot to say. Most of the time, he expects others to do the talking for him; and if he couldn’t rely on others, he lets his actions speak for themselves.

      He always wants to get his way, and if he has to charm his way to a person’s heart, he will do it. He learned to use his harmless and sweet appearance as an advantage. Usually a little hugging does the trick. Chime is only truly sweet to the people he cares about, but cruel to everyone else. Other than that, he is still a kid who wants to have fun.

      「 refuge 」
      A product of an unwanted pregnancy, Chime wasn't exactly one of the priorities of his own mother. Despite that his mother didn't want him to grow up with such a horrible parent; and so she thought it was best to leave him in the care of her brother who ran an orphanage. She knew Chime would be in good hands since her brother adored children so much. Chime was only two years old then.

      The man was worried that Chime was mute as he never said a single word even when he turned five, until he finally said, "Kahni...", his first word. The man was so overjoyed he felt like he was really Chime's father, and so he tried his best to have the boy call him "papa" but even as the years went by he was still called by his name. Even in his silence, he was happy staying with Kahni and avoided expecting parents coming by the orphanage. Their family grew everytime a kid was brought to the orphanage, and Chime couldn't help but feel a bit jealous when Kahni would give them attention.

      One day the skies looked as though it was burning even when it was supposed to be night. The next thing Chime knew is that Kahni carried him along with a few children; not knowing why they were rushing into a massive ship that promised them a new refuge.

    • Chime has Expressive Language Disorder, which makes it difficult for him to communicate whether verbal or written. His ability to communicate is marked below the appropriate mental age due to having impaired memory when it came to speech.
    • His memory problem also affects his ability to remember names, including that of his mother. Although, he is able to recall the names of people he has a strong attachment to.
    • Chime prefers to be called “Chime”. It was a nickname Kahni gave because of the bells he gave him to know where he is since he's so quiet. To him, his real name isn’t his name.
    • His ears are unusually small for a rabbit's and he tends to flatten it against his head.

    • Yes he has a fluffy white tail.
